Ride of Silence

Kristen Ehrlich, Connect Pinellas President being interviewed on Fox News 13 about the annual Ride of Silence ride.

Connect Pinellas participated in St. Petersburg Bicycle Club’s annual Ride of Silence to draw attention to the tragic cycling deaths in Pinellas County last year.  According to the National Highway Safety Administration’s 2024 data, Florida is now number one in bicycle fatalities by far.  In response to this tragic trend, in addition to pushing for better cycling infrastructure, “A big initiative with Connect Pinellas this year is our Lifelong Rider Education Program… we are pushing out helmets, we are trying to give out 400 free helmets this year,” says Kristen Ehrlich, Connect Pinellas’ President.

Connect Pinellas will be out at St. Pete Pride’s Family Day at the Pier this year on June 7th giving out helmets. Find more information on our Events page.
